The Digital Diagnostic Network was developed toprovidehorticultural, agricultural, and entomological answers tothepublic. Clientele submit pictures and information of an insectorplant sample to be identified or to determine what iscausingproblems in the growth of the plant. From the app, an emailwill besent to a list of Nebraska Extension educators withexpertise inthe questioned area. The experts are then able toprovide an answerback to the submitter. The DigitalDiagnosticsmain website also provides a list of seasonal pestsby monthwith links to many NebGuides for further information. Theprogramalso ensures that the correct identification is given from agroupof 15 experts to cover insects, fruits and vegetables, fieldcrops,grasses, weeds, landscape ornamentals, and trees &shrubs.

The Illinois Manure Calculator is built for theIllinois-specificmanure plan rules, enabling a livestock producerto quickly balancemanure applications with field crop nutrientneeds. This simple appautomates the nutrient management planningworksheet that Illinoislivestock producerslearnin the CertifiedLivestock Manager Trainingworkshops. The user enters manurestorages with the respectivemanure sample data, information forfields that will receivemanure, and the general type of manureapplication equipment beingused. The app calculates a manureapplication rate, based on thechoice of nitrogen or phosphoruslimits, and the N, P, and K thatwill be applied to the field.
